Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 2026-10-31
MakeToolz is free to use, and one of the ways we keep it that way is through affiliate partnerships. This page explains, in plain English, what that means for you.
What affiliate links are
Some links on MakeToolz, particularly in our tool comparisons and "best of" guides, are affiliate links. If you click one and then sign up for or buy a product, we may earn a small commission. You never pay more because of it: the price is the same as going direct, and sometimes our links carry a discount.
How it affects what we recommend
It does not. Our recommendations are based on features, pricing, and real usefulness, never on which company pays a commission. We routinely recommend free tools and cheaper options that earn us nothing, and we point out where a paid tool is not worth it. If we could not recommend a product honestly, we would not include it.
Which programs we may use
We may take part in affiliate programs run by the software and service providers we write about, and through affiliate networks that manage those programs. Where a specific relationship is relevant to an article, we note it in that article.
Our own tools are free
The tools hosted on MakeToolz are free to use and are not affiliate products. When a guide recommends one of our own tools, we say so directly.
FTC disclosure
In line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, we disclose that MakeToolz has a material connection (commissions) to some of the products linked on this site. We publish this disclosure so you can weigh our recommendations accordingly.
